About
Andy Richter is an award-winning visual artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He immerses himself in his subjects and their wider context, exploring such themes as family, fatherhood, self-transformation, consciousness and spirituality with the heightened awareness that the camera brings. A storyteller at heart, he is frequently commissioned by clients who understand that authentic visual content inspires audiences to engage and act. Whether collaborating with a major brand, a national publication, or an international NGO, his photographs deliver a clear vision that connects.
Andy’s work has been exhibited internationally and he has received recognition from American Photography, Photolucida, the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, and the International Photography Awards, among others. He is a multiple time recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. His monograph, Serpent in the Wilderness (2018), is available from Kehrer Verlag and wherever fine books are sold. A story of recently commissioned work on yoga, along with photographs from the book, was featured in the January 2020 issue of National Geographic Magazine.
